I'm willing to pay a 50% premium on my air fare for the guarantee there will be no screaming babies within three rows of my seat.

Thank you.

I would say that I'd pay a premium for a flight that's 18+ only, but most of the really bad behavior I've seen has been perpetrated by supposed adults.

I think there should be a hatch they can be shoved in and expeled from the plane.

I'd be content to have them sedated & shipped as cargo.

Sedation...now there's an idea.

Since I'm flying alone with an 18-month-old the weekend of July 8. Everyone might want to stay away from Lubbock/Dallas/Kansas City flights that weekend...

Why can't they have a screaming room like they do in some churches? Not that I ever attend church except for occasionally worshiping at the House of Pancakes

How about intentionally sitting groups with kids to a particular section of the plane, such as, say, the rear? It would boost sales for first class accomodations in the front...

I'd pay the same premium for a flight without "talkers" ... you know, the people whose vocal tones could peel a blackboard from fifty feet away, and they're the ones who natter on and on and on and on through the entire flight, at top volume?

They annoy me as much as the screaming babies.

This is why I carry both earplugs and a noise-cancelling headset when I fly.

The kid in last night's joy was kicking the back of our seats. Grrr...

On a recent flight back to the bay area, I was seated with two kids in front of me and two kinds in the row to my left. Both were using DVD players, but only one used headphones. And the one without headphones insisted on period screams. I had to bust out with the earplugs just to do some reading.

Start buying drinks for the kids... they're too small to hold their alcohol and should pass out soon. :-^

I do like the way you think! [livejournal.com profile] bikerbearbmw says that his parents would give the children bendryl to put them to sleep during plane trips. The downside was that when they got to where they were going, the kids, now rested, had plenty of energy!
