Yes, he's converted to the Apple side of life and is now the proud owner of a 2 GHz (Intel Dual Core) MacBook (white shell, $150 cheaper than the black shell), 1 GB of RAM, 80 GB hard drive, SuperDrive with Bluetooth and wireless networking. He spent a little extra for a wireless super mouse, MS Office and Parallels to run Windows apps when needed.
If they offered discounts for purchasing more than one at a time, I would have bought one for myself but my need for a new laptop hasn't yet overcome my resistance to such a large layout of cash (about $2200). Perhaps for my birthday next January. :-)

Date: 2006-08-24 01:33 pm (UTC)I haven't played with the new beast myself yet but it looks pretty sweet and is very powerful for such a small package. My 800 MHz iMac is still sufficient for my needs but I'm torn between upgrading to a newer machine (Dual Core and portable) or simply buying extra RAM to extend the life of my current beast.
