First Snowstorm of the Season!
Dec. 19th, 2009 02:35 pmThe snow began falling last night and hasn't let up yet. There's about a foot of snow in the streets right now and could reach 20" before this storm is over around midnight tonight.
The weather reports indicate this is the heaviest snow recorded for a December storm in Washington DC and the heaviest single snowfall since 1922. Yay us.
I made a lame attempt to shovel our way out from the front door to the sidewalk but gave up after a half-hour: snow was falling so quickly that it was clear my efforts would be invisible in a couple of hours.

Date: 2009-12-19 10:40 pm (UTC)I can remember living in Maine during my growing up years it was sort of "normal" that we'd get walloped by at least a couple storms during the season so bad that kids didn't go to school or that classes would be canceled at UofM.
