I'd be a lousy talk radio host
Dec. 12th, 2005 02:53 pmDuring my lunch break, I drove up to Frederick, MD, to pick up another of Kent's xmas presents, fill the gas tank, have the car washed, etc.. While zipping along, I was listening idly to NPR as they broadcast one of their local phone-in programs about local DC/MD/VA politics.
Why do people insist on calling a radio program when they have no clue what they're talking about?
I couldn't be a talk show host. My mantra would be "call back when you've done your homework," or the like. I have to do that often enough with my parents, perhaps it would be easier to do with complete strangers.
Nah, better not.

Date: 2005-12-12 11:52 pm (UTC)I have a somewhat unusual relationship with my parents... we've never hesitated to tell each other "you're nuts!" when it seemed appropriate.
Kent can always tell when I'm on the telephone with my mother. My part of the conversation goes something like this:
"Mom, what were you thinking? ... What on earth possessed you to do that? ... You did WHAT? Why???" And so on.
Family. Bless their hearts.
