I'll recast Friday as being only a 25 Dyson day of suckage (out of 100): it started ugly but it improved dramatically over the course of the day.

The work-related nightmares of the morning were largely sorted out by the late afternoon although I'd have been happier if the high drama hadn't occurred in the first place.

[livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr and visiting friend Charlene had a long & exhausting day of tourism in downtown DC; I collected them from our local Metro station and let them rest for a half-hour before dragging them off for dinner and to an evening concert.

[livejournal.com profile] kent4str was stage-wrangling a production of DC's Different Drummers on Capitol Hill, snagging tickets for us. It's artistic director Scott Barker's farewell performance after nearly 10 years with the baton and it was a fun and touching performance. DCDC has improved dramatically over the past decade; it will be interesting to see the direction the new director will take with them.

We collectively crashed hard as soon as we got home. I haven't slept continuously and in single bed for the entire night in weeks.

I'm glad the day improved.

I haven't slept continuously and in single bed for the entire night in weeks.

does this translate as a) "I slept in a single bed last night", or b) "for the first time in a long time I had an uninterrupted sleep last night, in only one bed all night? [ b1) with my hubbies?]"

Both are true, but (b) is the more complete & accurate. Usually, a certain someone's snoring drives me to the guestroom around 1:30 AM but it didn't happen last night.

I wasn't clear, I realise on re-reading. I realised that on a high proportion of nights (er, early mornings) you decamp to the guest room. When I said "single bed" in a) I didn't mean one-[single]-bed-all-night, I meant the guest bed (perhaps incorrectly described as a single bed, as in, 36" wide, twin; not to be confused with double / queen / etc.
