Curse You, Global Warming!
Oct. 19th, 2007 09:21 amIt is October 19. I should not have to close up the house and turn on the air conditioning at this time of year, even living in a swamp as we do. This is Not Right.
We've set a record for lack of precipitation in the Washington, DC area: no measurable rain in 35 days. It feels longer. Voluntary water restrictions in areas of Maryland north of DC have been stepped up to mandatory restrictions so locals who want to wash their cars will have to travel.
In an hour, we'll be heading out to West Virginia for a final weekend at the trailer. We'll winterize the beast and dream of returning next April for a new season of camping. sigh

Date: 2007-10-19 05:36 pm (UTC)It's unseasonably warm here too - mid to upper 70's this late in October is really weird for us. And dry too. The leaves are turning right to brown this year.
