Long day, yadda, yadda.

The early part of the morning was spent entirely staffing our 2009 convention table, just like the prior three days. There was a minor break in dancing before the brunch in which we received a small flood of registrations, lifting us over the 400 mark.

The brunch dragged a little, only because there were minor audio-visual issues. The food wasn't quite as nice as last night's banquet but it was still more than I would have prepared for myself at home. [livejournal.com profile] kent4str's 2009 convention presentation seemed well received too. [livejournal.com profile] allanh had a very good presentation plugging the 10/25 project as well... he'll probably explain more fully in his LJ if he hasn't already:

There was another small flood of registrations immediately after the brunch, as expected.

At 3 PM, I joined the other folks of DCLS for the addition of Scott Upright's badge to the memorial quilt panels. Elwin was a bit of a mess --understandibly-- but I think he was very happy to have the support of so many club members attending, offering him our support and sharing remembrances of Scott.

[livejournal.com profile] justetthon called the annual LJ tip this year... I did a quick count of 47 attendees:

The Fials added my 2008 convention dangle to my official IAGSDC dance badge; [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr had his updated too... [livejournal.com profile] kent4str forgot his at home.

I picked up my five club/group photos during a break in the afternoon. On the whole, they look OK in their staging but the middle & back rows seem excessively dark. I can't tell if that's an after-effect of rendering in a background of the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame or if they really needed to adjust the position of their lighting, but it's kinda lame nonetheless.

The convention planners meeting was well-attended. There wasn't a great deal new & exciting but I was surprised that the IAGSDC receives a 5x7" photo from the photographers for each club & group photo.

[livejournal.com profile] excessor was kind enough to model our DCDC2009 t-shirt and polo shirt for me so we'll have nice photos for our merchandise marketing:

I'm making additional notes about non-obvious things about the convention: the caller lounge, the memorial room, the AA room, the meeting rooms for AJH, the IAGSDC executive, the IAGSDC delegates, the GCA membership, the convention planners, etc..

The closing ceremonies have come & gone. It was sad saying good-bye to so many but I'm so exhausted that I was actually kind of glad to get out of the hall before collapsing.

And yes, we have that damned blue suitcase.

Please shoot me. Perhaps it will conveniently fall off the minivan's luggage rack on the way back to DC.

Gotta go... the room service cheeseburgers have arrived.
