Biohazard

The cold which seemed to be going into remission when I went to bed last night has come back with a vengeance. I can barely breathe and my throat is raw from coughing phlegm through the night.

At least two synapses are still functioning so I was able to both call in dead to work and catch up on LJ. Everything else is a stretch.

I'm going to go have a hot shower and pray for death now.

We are officially up to our ears in freakin' chocolate. Not that I'm complaining, but we've run out of places to store it all.

The xmas tree is shedding needles like there's no tomorrow. [livejournal.com profile] kent4str wants to keep it until, oh, July or so but it'll be a miracle if it survives to New Year's without becoming a Charlie Brown Special.

The assimilation integration of [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr continues. In the few hours the local bank was open on Monday, we added him to our household joint checking and savings accounts and he's opened a local checking account of his own. He can now worry about paying the household bills like the rest of us. :-)

We've cleaned out nearly all of the excess crap precious family heirlooms crap from the basement office, including the extra desk. [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr can proceed with making it his own.

No thanks to my cold, I'm quickly emptying every kleenex box deployed through the house. Thanks to some errors on our shopping list, we still have something like a five year supply in storage.

My primary home XP workstation decided to have some nasty registry corruption on the weekend. With my laptop's power supply dead too this left me with only my Linux workstation, my iMac and four other workstations & laptops. Yup, I was totally crippled until I fixed the registry issue last night. Now if only the laptop's replacement power supply would arrive...

Local friends and coodinators of the Bears Night Out mailing list, Jim & Joseph, held their annual solstice drop-in last Saturday. It's always great fun, a wonderful time to catch up with guys we see only rarely and --naturally-- eat far too much. By happy coincidence, it was also a great time to introduce [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr to a few extra local guys and prove to him that we do indeed know a handful of people who aren't square dancers --yet.
