I slept soundly and deeply last night, possibly the best night of sleep I've had in months, despite a brief nightmare which woke me up around 8 AM.

As mentioned previously, I've been having tremendous difficulty figuring out how precisely to craft the HTML code to allow payment via PayPal for online registration to the 2009 IAGSDC convention. Last night, IAGSDC webmaster [livejournal.com profile] abqdan took pity on my incompetence and crafted the code for me, bless his heart! This morning, I created an event listing for the 2009 convention, plugged in his PayPal link code and all appears to be working smoothly.

Big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] markens who showed me some of his code and [livejournal.com profile] ohwolfman for pointing me to various resources... these helped a great deal.

I know [livejournal.com profile] abqdan is working on a merchandise module currently; we'll soon be able to flog cheap crap sell convention memorabilia too. And when we have pre- & post-convention tours available, those will be added using the existing modules.

[livejournal.com profile] discord35 has been given admin access for our event listing in case I'm hit by a meteor or such; he'll also be able to update the online registration database for those who pre-registered via paper, although he can only do that for those already with profiles on the IAGSDC web site.

At the moment, I'm about 50% done a task listing and project plan (including staffing requirements) for my portion of on-site registration for the 2009 convention. I hope to have this finished and distributed to my other committee members before the weekend is over.

We've just received confirmation that [livejournal.com profile] justetthon will be teaching our Plus square dance class on Monday, August 20, while [livejournal.com profile] kent4str, [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr and I are still in Canada attending my sister's wedding. Yay!

And yesterday evening, [livejournal.com profile] otterpop58 send confirmation of his flights in & out of DC for September when he will be staying chez nous for Andyrama, Sept. 22 & 23, 2007.

I still have some office-related stuff to tackle --composing an instruction sheet for how to put reboot jobs on ice via Autosys, as well as confirming the revised Autosys reboot schedule for our non-production servers-- but I'm already further ahead of schedule than I could have hoped.

I'm going to go see if [livejournal.com profile] kent4str is awake yet, then cook up some chicken fingers for lunch.

I ran further tests with the IAGSDC online registration system, adding myself and billing myself via PayPal to ensure that all worked as advertised and to see what sort of messaging and logging both the web site and PayPal provided. All is looking flawless at this point. A summary of today's work was then reported to the others on my 2009 convention committee.

Two loads of laundry are now finished. The dishwasher was emptied & reloaded.

Taking care of some office-related tasks, I've cross-checked my reboot schedule master plan against the current Autosys-controlled reboot schedule and noted exceptions. I'm waiting for feedback from the Autosys support team before proceeding with changes. I've also done 50% of the Autosys documentation the office will require for the disaster recovery exercise in October; I need some feedback before finishing the lot. The SAN support team emailed me some required details last night; I've incorporated the information into four work tickets which have now been submitted to the appropriate bodies for review. Email and reporting caught up.

I've just finished ironing a pile of shirts, some of which have been waiting since May. All are now hung in the appropriate closet.

Whee!
