I've been rather busy of late and decided I need a break from LJ.

OK, done. Missed me?

I had finished 99% of our tax returns weeks ago but we were waiting for the 1099 forms from DC Lambda Squares. I nudged our treasurer on that this evening at club night and he looked into his files when he got home and discovered our payments from 2006 were misclassified so his accounting software didn't think a 1099 was necessary. Doh!

After some quick updates to the accounts, he called me back to give me the numbers (the 1099s will be snail-mailed tomorrow). Alas, thanks to yet another quirk of the software, he can only print a 1099 in my name or [livejournal.com profile] kent4str's, but not split the calling revenues between the pair of us. That seems kinda lame, but we opted to put the DCLS revenue under my name as I'm taking the car deduction for my taxes.

The end result is that we were able to electronically file our taxes this evening. Between the pair of us, we should get back about $5k USD, which I intend to use to pay down the household equity line although [livejournal.com profile] kent4str thinks he's going to use it on remodelling the master bathroom.
