Cleveland, Day 3
Apr. 30th, 2006 05:52 pmConsidering the late hour of last night, I was surprisingly alert at 9 AM.
kent4str was still drowsy but Nick was busy catching up on e-mail in the living room when I went downstairs. Bob was still 90% comatose so I took advantage of his inability to resist by taking a series of documentary photos, one every 10 minutes or so, as he gradually got himself together and climbed out of bed. He's adorable at the best of times, but even more so when he's utterly groggy.
Something about spotting helpless prey just brings out the predator in me. :-)
We debated going down to the leather mart being run as part of the leather event happening in the downtown, but we ultimately decided against it: none of us had any particularly glaring gap in our dead cow wardrobe. I could use a new leather jacket, but that one would be for office wear rather than the leather bar. I could use a new pair of boots too but we couldn't imagine that the vendors present would have both the style & size to suit: the amount of inventory to ship would be horrendous for relatively little profit margin. My chaps, cuffs, arm bands, hat, shirts, vests and such all still fit very well. I think Glen would have loved me to use the handcuffs on him last night, but alas, I left them at home... what was I thinking? :-)
Coordinating with Brian & Dr. Mark, we went to Generous George's for breakfast, then spent the early part of the afternoon dashing about the suburbs on various shopping adventures. We weren't shopping for ourselves per se, but it was fun to help Brian & Mark spend their money.
Our collective lack of sleep began catching up to us around 2 PM. As soon as we made it back to Casa Nick,
kent4str & I crashed for an afternoon nap. I believe Nick did as well, but Bob stayed vertical long enough to check his e-mail and generally amuse himself online.
At this moment, I've updated LJ, checked my e-mail & printed our boarding passes while
kent4str has packed our bags. We're off to the airport around 6:45 PM and back to DC on the 8:05 Continental flight.
