bjarvis: (trailer)
It's been a relaxing day of being lazy in rural West Virginia.

I slept in this morning. It would have been more enjoyable if Kent hadn't been snoring until 3 AM loudly enough to cause my rib cage to vibrate. I got out of bed once around 3 to examine my options: crawling into bed with Jeff in the living room or some other option. Then I heard co-trailer trash Jerry in the full bed in the back snoring almost as loudly as Kent and realized there would be no respite there. If I had a spare blanket at the time, I would have gone to the minivan in the parking lot to sleep in the back.

There's lots of naked men around me at the moment, which makes for some very nice if distracting scenery. If I wasn't already exhausted from fun romps separately with Michael W. and Ben B., I wouldn't be at the computer right now. Discovering they had an open WiFi node here at Roseland is a good thing. :-)

Jerry & David went off to Pittsburgh to join the Pittsburgh Bears in a day trip to Kennywood. I love roller coaster and would have loved to have joined the, but another 2.5 hours in a car just didn't appeal, particularly when sleep-deprived this morning. They'll be back at 7:30 PM or so for dinner.

I'm happy to report that my new Verizon Wireless cell phone does indeed work at our trailer. Further down the hill, it does not: we must be at the edge of the working range.

On the square dance front, I've largely finished the call analysis work I needed to do on the A1/A2 list. I still have to type up the A2 notes but that will take only a half-hour or so. We also found a few minutes to check out the sound system at the bar here, to see how well our calling equipment will connect. We're going to be hosting an intro to square dancing session on Saturday, October 1, but this is our only opportunity before that date to confirm we have the right combination of cables & adapters to make everything work.

Gotta run... there's pork chops to grill!
