It could be that he simply didn't know how to wipe out all entries, but you'd think he'd have removed individual ones. I'm guessing based on the calendar entries that he got the thing as an xmas present so perhaps he simply decided he wasn't going to use it and would prefer trading it for some other useful product or store credit.
