Saturday Update
Jun. 3rd, 2006 11:32 pmThe bathroom stuff is coming along nicely. The wallpaper is now completely removed from the walls. We used a removal chemical for the first layer but it didn't penetrate far, even with severely scoring the paper prior. Still, we were able to remove the first layer and simply use a squirt bottle of water and scrapers to take down the underlayer.
kent4str has finished mopping it down with vinegar to remove dust & mold; tomorrow, I'll tape along the edges and we can put down a primer coat of paint. In the interim, we're using the basement shower & bath.
Around 4 PM, we headed to Arlington, VA, to collect Jeff M. to head over to the Potomac Yards googleplex. Many others have reviewed the movie so I won't say much except that I kinda liked it, although it didn't have the same nuanced dialogue or action as the prior movies. The continuity guy needed to be fired. Some portions --like the Golden Gate Bridge scene-- were completely gratuitous but I have to admit the special effects were flawless.
One of the best parts about going to the movie was running into friends Kit & Stuart as we left (they were going in to see "The DaVinci Code"). Mmmm... what an incredibly hot, woofy pair. *drool*...
kent4str & Jeff are planning to see "Over the Hedge" at a matinee tomorrow... I'm still undecided about whether to go or just stay at home to enjoy having the house to myself for the afternoon. I'll probably cave in since we made good progress on the bathroom today.
Bedtime...
