A Perfect Day
Feb. 28th, 2006 08:57 amYesterday was very odd in a delightful way... it was, for lack of a better word, a perfect day.
I had a series of tasks at work, all of which were completed without error or surprise. I finished a series of server builds without finding faulty equipment or having issues dealing with the data center staff getting them installed in their appropriate cabinets. I had several conference calls, none of which added additional items to my "to do" list; indeed, all of them happily reported successful conclusions on many outstanding tasks and we're on schedule on my other projects.
I got a raise and a bonus at work. And then the boss took my team out for lunch.
When I arrived at home, there was a reimbursement check from my medical savings account, paying me back for my co-pay and uninsured balance for some dental filling replacements last month.
Kent cooked dinner (a delicious curried beef on white rice, a combo we affectionately refer to as "slop") and we caught up on three recorded episodes of Battlestar Galactica.
I telephoned my mother to check on her recovery from minor food surgery and she didn't ask me to send up money. And I haven't heard a thing from another sister whom I expected to ask for rent money for this month.
After exchanging some e-mail with

In my life, it rarely gets better than this. Ahhhhh....
