I'm looking at WordPress for creating a very simple-to-maintain web site for [profile] cuyahogarvr. Not having used WP before, it's pretty neat and I like having a huge variety of potential hosting sites.

The thing that is tripping me up is that there are sooo many themes/templates. Thousands of them. Is there any easy, efficient way to sort through them all?

The best way to do is think of what you want your theme to be, then google it. There are jillions of theme curation sites out there, and they'll help you get things sorted. Of course, you still have to do some work.

For example, if you want a portfolio-like site, google for "best portfolio wordpress themes". If you want something minimalist, "best minimalist wordpress themes"

Smashing Magazine has some really great tutorials on how to tweak/customise WP.
