Since PM Martin has resigned, there is a job opening for a new Liberal leader.

This afternoon, Frank McKenna, Canadian ambassador to the US, resigned his post in DC.

The race is (unofficially) on!

John Manley has pre-emptively said he won't run so McKenna definitely has the lead now.

I haven't heard much about Sheila Copps lately, whether she might consider another run for the leadership or at least running for her old seat in Hamilton East.

Neither Sheila nor John would do as well as McKenna. Not even close.

Nah, but I wonder if they'll try getting their old seats back with a view to re-entering a future cabinet.
