bjarvis | Salvaging the day

Despite my plans being run through a wood chipper earlier this morning, I've managed to salvage something of the day thus far.

There was an all-hands meeting at work but I skipped it: the last thing anybody would have wanted was to be around me just then. Further, in my mood at that time, I probably would have said something career-limiting about what a waste of time it was. Better to stay in my cube and mope.

I did catch up on a backlog of e-mail and some minor reporting, scheduled work for the next couple of weeks, corrected a colleague's order for SCSI cables and took an early lunch of have the emissions of my car checked per order of the Maryland MVA. I'd probably be a bit cheerier yet if it wasn't raining but at least the precipitation is liquid so I won't have anything to shovel when I get home tonight.

I was hoping to sneak away from the office early today but a rescheduled conference call has made that impossible. Figures. At least there are no other appointments, meetings or events tonight.
