Club Night with DC Lambda Squares
Feb. 19th, 2009 11:15 pmI was nominally to call Mainstream/Plus for the DC Lambda Squares tonight but since we had no Mainstream dancers, I modified the program somewhat: we had nearly all Plus with two short A2 sets to drill some of the tougher calls for our newest Advanced graduates.
In all, it was a good night. Some of the newer Plus dancers were having difficulty with seeing diamonds and were confused with the difference between "cut the diamond" and "flip the diamond," but these were easily resolved with gentle guidance. Any issues with the dancing was swept aside by a kick-ass closing singing call to "It's Hard to be Humble"... everyone knows the lyrics, can sing along and danced with the wind in their faces to a delightful close to the night.
kent4str calls Advanced for the Zig Zaggers tomorrow night, we're attending a C2 workshop chez
justetthon on Saturday and we're hosting a newbie caller workshop Sunday as well as a DC Diamond Circulate committee meeting. Whee!
