iMac Victory!
Jan. 1st, 2009 11:35 amIt took some effort to dismantle the old iMac but I was able to extract the old 60 GB hard drive and replace it with a 320 GB disk. After putting it all back together, I was happy to hear the standard Mac boot chime and watch it boot up from an external USB clone disk. The new disk has been recognized by the system and successfully formatted.
As I write this, the data is being restored to the new disk. In another 12-14 hours, all will be done! Yay!

I enjoy working with it occasionally, but it's really too slow for anything except playing music and leisurely surfing. We have it in our spare room for the use of guests, if they wish.
