With a few clicks and a credit card, I've wrapped up (so to speak) xmas shopping for my nieces & nephew in Canada.
Thanks to the joys of the Internet, I can shop at Canadian portals to avoid cross-border shipping delays, tariffs & duties; thanks to my visa card from a Canadian bank, I can also avoid the odious currency exchange charge my US cards would charge me.
Kaylee (about 1 1/2 years old) is getting a musical walker/rolling toy. The sounds generated should drive her mother insane in hours.
Ashley (six months old) will be receiving a plush play mat adorned with various toys and baby attention-getters. Her older brother, Daniel (4 yrs) is heavily into cars & trucks; I'm really into presents which annoy his parents. Combining these two, we get the Hot Wheels "Slimecano" play set. Who can resist a product name like that?
Because
paigemom reads this LJ, I won't describe what we tossed into the mail earlier today, but it is something to be shared with the whole family. While we can't get them the hell out of Portales, NM, we can at least try to make life there a little more bearable.
While waiting for shipping confirmations, I registered both Kent & me for the 2007 IAGSDC convention, Red Rocks & Purple Mountains, as well as our local club's Andy-rama coming up next January. Best of all, I can use Kent's holiday bonus to pay for it all! Life is indeed good.
Now if I could just make some headway on various work-related projects...
