The chipped tooth now has a temporary crown attached. I go back on the morning of Nov 14 for the permanent crown, all for the low, low price of $1,138. Bugger.

Adding insult to injury, there is still another tooth which may need a crown in the next year and two fillings my dentist wants to replace. It was a good thing he informed me of all of this extra work & expense while my face was still too numb to express anything.

I love the way dental insurance covers only the most miniscule amount of the expensive procedures.

Well, put on your white gloves, grab your handbag, and give us all the Betty Windsor Wave.

It's not clear at the moment how much this will cost out of pocket. I have to pay the dentist up front, then his staff submits the lot to Aetna Dental to see what they'll cover.

On the good side :-^, I had $500 in my medical savings account which has to be used up soon so now I don't have to worry about forfeiting that lump.

well I hope at least you put the payment on a credit card that gets you airmiles or something similar

(startling how many points I got via my dentist)

I had to have a root canal to implant a steel rod to mount my new crown on.......$1600.00 later....at least my dental insurance covered a bit of it.

Ouch. Amazing how much we're willing to pay to have ourselves tortured, isn't it?

See, you can show all the emotion you want and not have to pay for it in wrinkles!

Have you EVER had Botox(r)?

Never. Even if I carried about the odd wrinkle, I'm too cheap: it's more affordable to just put a bag over my head.

But make sure it's a bag you got from the grocery store so you didn't have to directly pay for it.

I was actually thinking of splurging for a hemp bag or something suitable re-usable & ecologically friendly. Yeah, it would mean spending money but it's good for the planet. :-)

Sorry about the tooth, that was not a fun day.
I have been reading your blog, it came up when we did a search for roseland resort. We are a new neighbor of yours in rose Hill, on site 212. We will be putting a new trailer there by April of next year. We are also a neighbor , living in Crystal City. My partner David also sang in the chorus with you and we also went to gala in san Jose with the group. Small world.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce ourselves to you and hopefully we will see you in Roseland in the Spring
