John Z., our DCDC2009 committee chair and hotel point-of-contact, has increased our block of rooms with the Marriott Wardman Park. We had exhausted our room block for April 5, 6 and 7, which would have made it difficult for the GCA caller school attendees. The newly expanded block eliminates those problems.

Here's the latest, as of this morning. The "AU" indicates the number of rooms available on that night, "RS" the number reserved and "RA" the number still available.

By my calculations, that's 2195 room-nights in the block, of which 1281 are now booked. That's a fill rate of 58.3%, approaching our contractually obligated 80% rate with six months left to go.

After receiving news of the room block expansion, I called the hotel to move the five rooms I booked for the GCA caller school coaches, TAs and staff into the room block, then passed along the update to the GCA executive. I love being able to do all of this with just a laptop and a wireless connection from any place on the planet... life is good.
