Xmas Decorating

I'm not big on decorating in general, and even less so during the holiday season. There's already too much to do that I'd rather not spend time & effort on something as transitory as holiday decorations. This, however, hasn't stopped me from being drafted into decorating other peoples' homes. At least I don't have to worry about digging items out of storage, then sorting & testing the electrical ornaments: all I need to do is put up the items given me.



We spent the bulk of Saturday chez Cal & Eric in Manassas, VA, decorating their place. Cal is a bit of a christmas fanatic: a large portion of the garage storage space is allocated to xmas decorations for the 11 months of the year they're not in active use. Many of the tree ornaments are (a) rather expensive Victoria family heirlooms, (b) school crafts by Cal's two sons when they were in elementary school (both are now in university), or (c) souvenir decorations from his various travels around the planet.

Cal & Eric had already set up the xmas trees --all six of them-- and decorated two:









We helped finish off the rest, then we started work on the outside of the house while we still had daylight.



I'm planning to be on vacation in another country when it comes time to take down all of the trees & decorations.

Heheh ... 6 trees is more than a "bit" of a Christmas fanatic! With all those lights I guess they don't need the heating on though.

I kept telling him that medication is much cheaper than more xmas trees but he didn't listen. *sigh*
