Mobile Phone Geekery
Aug. 20th, 2008 01:03 pmI've finally head enough breathing space to replace my slowly-dying Motorola E815 cell phone. In fact, I've transitioned to... another E815!
dr_scott upgraded his service recently; with his old phone of no use and me searching for just that model, he kindly shipped over to the east coast.
With the help of Verizon Wireless' Backup Assistant app and their website, I was able to backup my old contact list, activate the replacement phone and restore my data to it. Alas, the backup/restore app didn't retain the ringer ID settings or any of my photos but I can handle those manually or restore the images via Bluetooth from my iMac. Life is good!
Edit:
cuyahogarvr just called me on the replacement phone... yay!

Date: 2008-08-20 05:52 pm (UTC)For the time I had it, I loved the phone a lot.
I liked the fact that the pictures were saved as NORMAL files and I can take out the memory card and stick it in the adaptor and shove it into the PC to upload and it's camera was quite good too.
*sigh*
