bjarvis: (sleeping)

I arrived home just before 1 AM last night after spending all day at the office. As tired as I was though, I didn't fall asleep immediately.

My pager started screaming again at 8 AM, mostly people wanting a new update on the server I was working on last night. After checking the machine once more and letting the users at it for applications testing, I tried to carry on a conversation with the hubbies but found that I needed a nap. At just before 10 AM.

I woke up some time around 1:30 PM, a little more rested but still feeling like I could use another year or two of sleep.

There's still some minor work left to do on the Server From Hell, but it will all be done soon. And then I get to do it all over again at the office tomorrow. *sigh*

On the good side though, it's kinda nice to be a geek again: I've been doing a tonne o' geeky hardware and operating system stuff I'd never be allowed to do during a day shift. The change is welcome.

Leaving me at home to worry and fret about our retirement savings fading away as you both succumb to marketing pressure. *sigh*

you could have gone with them to be the voice of party-pooping parsimoniousness fiscal prudence, but Noooooo, you decided to sleep.

you made your decision, and actions have consequences. If you couldn't sleep while your dearly-beloveds were out thar with cash and plastic, sleeplessness was a self-inflicted wound...
