jearbear65 teaches elementary school music in the area of Columbus, OH. A number of years ago, he mentioned that he regularly teaches a couple of his classes to sing "Bonhomme, Bonhomme," a traditional Quebecois winter song and sometimes uses it as a springboard to talk about Canada.

I made the mistake of mentioning that I was compelled in elementary school to sing that particular musical abomination year after year and that it makes me violently ill. That was a mistake.

For the past few years, jearbear65 has made a point of calling me at work by cell phone from his classroom to have his students serenade me. Five minutes ago, he & his 4th grade class made their annual call. Bless their hearts.
