Annual performance evaluation
Nov. 29th, 2005 12:54 pmI'm working on my self-assessment for my annual performance review. I'd rather be pressing rusty nails through my palms.
My saving grace is that I will be done within an hour because I've kept detailed records of my work-related activities since 1996. I'd be done sooner except that my dear colleagues are popping up over the walls of my cube to ask me what they accomplished earlier this year.
I'm going to seriously need a chocolate sundae when this is done.

Date: 2005-11-29 06:31 pm (UTC)What amazes me is that each annual review process bears no resemblance whatsoever to any prior year's: it's as though HR feels obligated to offer a totally new experience each time, trying desperately to refresh a stale sitcom. The firm has been around since 1932... one would think they'd have a well-refined system in place by now instead of re-inventing the wheel each time.
