Feeling Better Today
Nov. 16th, 2005 09:36 amCVS Non-Drowsy Sever Cold Relief is my new best friend. It managed to keep me in one piece through the bulk of yesterday's shift, thank god.
Sadly, just as I arrived home, a Sun Microsystems 6800 at our Reston data center suffered the same symptoms as me: uncorrectable memory error, a failed system board and a total system crash. Like me, the server is still in the process of catching up on missed work. Unlike me, its issues were resolved with a simple board swap.
Wrapped in a blanket sipping hot tea, I fell asleep in front of the television watching Nova. Realizing this was a hint that I needed rest, I called it an early night and went to bed. I then spent the next 2.5 hours staring at the ceiling, unable to sleep. Figures.
At least my head and neck hurt less than yesterday, although the hearing in my left ear is still down by half. Hopefully all will be normal again in another day or two.
