West Virginia Elections
Apr. 13th, 2008 10:21 pmOur drive to & from the trailer this weekend through West Virginia was highly amusing: there are vast numbers of election campaign signs for local, municipal and statewide offices but none whatsoever for federal offices. Thus, the signs, names and offices changed every half-hour or so as we made our way across the state.
For example, Sandy Holepit is running against Jim Nabors for magistrate. "Sandy Holepit" sounds like a character out of an unpublished Dickens reject; and I thought Jim Nabors was dead. :-)
My favourite though was a chap ironically named Randy Minor running for family court judge. You can't make these things up.
