In the past, I had talked about finding a place where I could go skating during lunch. While I had the public skating schedule for the Frederick, MD, arena, I hadn't checked out the facility yet. Work was light earlier today so it seemed an opportune time for a road trip.

It's a fairly nice and modern facility, although if I had gone skating today, I would have been the only person on the ice.

Anyone else interested in joining me for ice skating in Frederick, MD, periodically, 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM? We'd have the place to ourselves!

I'm looking forward to the extra exercise. There's no doubt my weight is gradually edging upwards --pigging out on weapons-grade girl scout thin mints obviously hasn't helped-- but it's largely from my lack of strenuous physical activity. I've been hovering (hoovering?) around 185 lbs for a while: it's time to downsize to about 170.

The rink, however, is surrounded by Roy Rogers, Dairy Queen, Five Guys burgers, Cold Stone Creamery and a grocery store. They aren't making this easy.

BTW, on a lark, I drove back to the office along 355 southbound. I was pleasantly surprised how nice areas of north Frederick and historic Frederick can be. Who knew? :-)
