And Now The Article!

Here's the article which accompanies the cover image posted last night.

I like the article... while it may overplay the mental puzzle aspect of square dancing a little, I strongly prefer that to the awful hayseed, country bumpkin image.

Alas, references to cuyahogarvr didn't make it in --we all met via square dancing-- but I'm guessing that those portions didn't fit with the writer's technical theme. One could write an entire other article on friendships, relationships & community ties in square dancing.

The tone or the article is supportive and modern although this paragraph is rife with errors, not the least of which is the misspelling of poor Ett's name all through the article:

Consider this: The International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs (IAGSDC) lists 63 clubs. Along with the DC Lambda Squares and the Chesapeake Squares, our region boasts Philadelphia's Independence Squares; the Raleighwood Squares in Durham, N.C.; and the Delmarvelous Squares in Rehoboth Beach, to name a few. Expand the search and you'll find the Edo 8s of Tokyo or Copenhagen's Mermaid City Squares."

Aren't two of these groups defunct?

In spite of the fact that they need a good copy editor (as billeyler has pointed out), I think it's a good article and projects the right image. Good for you for getting him to re-think his attitude.
