My replacement passport arrived today! Hurray... I can travel internationally once again!

My application was mailed on Sept 29, my credit card billed Nov 6 and the passport delivered Dec 11. 63 days total.

I've been there. I could go again as soon as global warming takes care of that pesky cold. Or if another round of lasik did away with my need for glasses entirely - going from arctic cold into warm, moist buildings, and back, repeatedly, left my eyewear calving icebergs. Not something I'd want to repeat, even if I only need the glasses at night.

what kind of glasses do you wear that misbehave so badly? my glasses fog for about 30s inside a warm room after being outside, even on very cold days. no ice on the spectacles. and I live right here in trawna, in the great white north. where it's acksherly above freezing today.

I gave up on contacts when I was teaching in labs, as you shouldn't wear contacts in a lab (nasty chemical vapours dissolve in the lens, and then presto! the chemicals are held right next to your cornea. not a good idea). One of the advantages of contacts in chillier climes is that they never fog in winter as one moves in and out of doors.

brian, you grew up north of nipissing. how did you end up attached to such a weather-wimp?
