Later that same day...
Nov. 3rd, 2007 05:42 pmThe garage is now cleared out. Sometime tomorrow, the items ordered from Lowes should be arriving: one replacement bathtub and three replacement toilets, all part of our bathroom renovation project to start in the next couple of weeks.
We have just returned from a trip to our newly acquired storage locker, taking a number of boxes of materials belonging to the Lesbian & Gay Chorus of Washington and DC Lambda Squares, as well as a lot of our personal junk. There are a surprising number of empty shelves in our basement and storage closets now.
The minivan has been completely reloaded with items going to Goodwill. They've been scattered around the house but finally placing them in a vehicle will force us to overcome our innate laziness tomorrow about getting these to the local depot.
Laundry is nearly caught up, thanks be to the appropriate deity.
kent4str is finally putting away his clean clothes, some of which have been waiting for weeks for this small consideration.
We've also largely finished our seasonal clothing turnover: summer clothes are stored away in the basement closet while the heavier shirts, sweaters and longjohns are brought up from storage. It's still very comfortable and pleasant outdoors but it won't last forever. Or it will due to global warming, depending on my mood of the moment.
Still to do this weekend:
- ironing shirts;
- deliver items to Goodwill;
- more filing of household bills & documents than any person should ever have to face;
- the remaining laundry, which, mercifully, isn't too bad;
- replacing the secondary light fixture in the master bedroom;
- installing a ceiling fan in the main guestroom;
- eat something besides leftover Halloween candy;
- take one dresser and at least chair to the storage locker;
- taken inventory of stationery supplies for the upcoming square dance weekend and obtain supplemental items where needed;
- more tasks which have clearly escaped my overtaxed neocortex.

didja manage to score some bite-sized CoffeeCrisp(tm) bars? have they all been eaten?
did you get any
ankle-biting candy-grubberstrick-or-treaters, or was the candy purchase all for yourself? (I realise the great sacrifice you make, cleaning it all up, really)enquiring minds need to know!

Date: 2007-11-03 10:53 pm (UTC)No bite-sized Coffee Crisp, alas. No kids came by so the lot is going to be consumed by us or taken to our individual offices to share with the cow-orkers.

Date: 2007-11-03 11:07 pm (UTC)sorry about the CoffeeCrisp(tm). And sorry about your complete absence of young guests. You DO realise you're supposed to leave lights on, don't you? Maybe put the odd jack-o-lantern by the front door? If you shut the house up tighter than a drum they'll think that no-one is home.
or was that the intention, for a week-long sugar high for the householdersNaaah - that could never be the case.no subject

Date: 2007-11-04 01:33 pm (UTC)somehow toe-tapping implies to me public facilities, where one doesn't really have any idea who's in the next cubicle (ask Senator McWidestance about that!). My stereotype of private-residence loos means you are at least acquainted with anyone liable to be seated next to you, so toe-tapping would be superfluous.
so - tell me - ARE you planning on installing glory holes in the course of the bathroom renovations? Enquiring Minds Need To Know.
