If [livejournal.com profile] bjarvis was travelling, then [livejournal.com profile] bjarvis was being incredibly shallow and probably armed with a camera.

Click for some of the hotter specimens encountered in our recent Seattle trip. ([livejournal.com profile] rlegters, [livejournal.com profile] tdjohnsn, [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr and [livejournal.com profile] kent4str already occupy a special place in my heart so I'm sure they'll forgive me for not including them in this list... they all appear in prior hottie postings anyway. :-))

well the hotties were fun - but how did the cold fish get in there?

enquiring minds need to know

On our first afternoon in Seattle, we went to the locks in Ballard, WA; there's a salmon run there and the coho were heading upstream.

but these salmon are underwater (not jumping up a fish ladder) ... were you IN the locks?

I'm SO confused

Sections of the ladder and lock were incorporated into an observation & educational area so we could see the fish make their way upstream from behind glass.

What the photos doesn't show is scale: those fish were huge! While we were watching the salmon, a toddler of perhaps 2 years of age pressed against the glass, completely agog about these fish. I felt like picking up the kid and holding him horizontally against the glass so you could see that the fish was *bigger* than the kid.

When he became a little fussy later, I considered using him as bait for the fish, but that's another story.

Fun fun fun! Sure wish I could have been there among all that woofiness! I see Mick is still there in Seattle -- hope he's doing all right there. David O went, eh? Whee! Correction: Kathy = Kate. Arguably the same name, but... ;-)

Corrected references to Kate... thanks! I knew that but my mind was elsewhere when I was labelling the photos, I guess.

I'm sure I'll see you at a square dance event gain some day... *sigh* :-)

Don't tell anyone, but I've noticed that the 2008 AC/DC is scheduled a week before the Dance Flurry, the event that has kept me from AC/DC for two out of the past three years. I can't promise anything, but...

ACDC is indeed a week earlier than usual, largely so we take advantage of Dave Wilson's availability without having to spring for him to make a special trip from Sweden.

Do consider coming if you happen to have some time between gigs!
