Whatever ugly plague-causing microscopic critter [livejournal.com profile] kent4str was suffering from the past several days has been successfully transmitted to me. Imagine my joy.

He was supposed to call for the Chesapeake Squares' regular club night last night but was clearly in no shape to go anywhere so I substituted for him. About half-way through the evening, I started feeling a little woosy and temperature sensitive. By the time I was driving home an hour later, my head was pounding. Once I was home, every joint and muscle began aching with a level of pain I haven't experienced in years. My temperature was 102 degrees F.

I took some Tylenol to ease the fever and pain, turned up the electric mattress pad to max and went to bed. I have no idea when I finally fell asleep but it was close to 2 AM.

At the moment, I'm feeling better than last night although I'm still in an ugly state. I doubt very much I'll be up for C1 tonight, even to just unlock the doors then quarantine myself in the corner.

On the good side, last night I sight-called an A2 tip for the first time. I've been using an inventory of scripted material to this point but decided to take the plunge. To my surprise, I didn't suck out loud. I attempted no clever get-outs or setups, aiming for smoothness and I think I had a moderate level of success. Yay.

I'm going to go back to bed now.

UGH! Okay, this is one of those "sharing" experiences of married life that REALLY SUCKS! I'm really sorry to hear you're both under the weather and wish I could do something to make you feel better - from a distance of course. Seriously, I hope you're both feeling better soon.

Thanks! [livejournal.com profile] kent4str is feeling better... he went to work today although he's may call it a short day. I just got up from another brief catnap and am feeling slightly better than earlier.

Good to hear, but if the urge for another sojourn in the bed calls, listen to it.

My Evil Plan worked!

Sorry - I wish you hadn't gotten it. And, yes, I'll be calling it an early day at work today.

Maybe I'll make us some nice chicken soup for dinner, if I've got the energy for it.

Oh you poor thing!

Sorry to hear you are sick as a dog, no pun intended.

Get well and back to your regular self soon. :-)

I had a cold at the same time as Kent. I think Ron managed to dodge it though. Sleep a lot and get feeling better!

Sending you chicken soup with garlic and pepper via virtual transport. Think of it as training for your immune system -- a necessary evil. And better now than a day after I've kissed you! Get well quick....

The only way to overcome this plight (and we SHALL overcome) is to take out your credit card, head directly to ecost.com, and shop until your fever breaks. Then when the merchandise arrives, explain to your husband that it was done in a drug induced hazed and that you need counseling. America loves repentant drug addicts.
