Today is a much better day
Dec. 15th, 2006 10:24 amThe past week has been largely hell but today is Friday --a day with a certain charm of its own-- and work is light, all things considered. In fact, today we have a team lunch scheduled so I get to make a colossal pig of myself on someone else's tab. Who can complain about that?
I finally found some time to catch up on paperwork and bills at home. In fact, I managed to knock off about half of my long & extensive to do list, which is contributing in no small part to my better mood today. I have a good idea what to get
paigemom & A's delightful offspring --her birthday is today-- and will order when I get confirmation from the parental units. We also ordered presents for
cuyahogarvr; coincidentally, another of his presents arrived in the mail and I had great fun playing with it before putting it back in the box.
I still have four very large projects to work on, but the staggered deadlines are a week, two weeks and two months away so I have time whip all of them into shape.
And I really need to get off my ass to get a cleaning service for home. The house isn't a complete disaster but lord it isn't looking good. One more week and I'll just replace the microwave instead of trying to clean it. Eww. I think Sunday will be dedicated to vacuuming the house. All of it. Perhaps repeatedly.

Date: 2006-12-16 03:22 pm (UTC)put a mug half full of water in the microwave and zap it for five minutes, and leave the oven closed for another 5 min. Then open it and try wiping down then -- the steam generated should have softened some of the flak on the walls / ceiling of the oven. lather / rinse / repeat.

One of my favourite quotes from Roseanne: "I'm not getting a vacuum until Sears makes one I can ride on."
(well, Christmas IS coming -- could you FedEx a request to Santa for one of them?)
