Our C2 class continues to chug along. A month ago, I extrapolated that our current pace would allow us to wrap up the class by July 1 but another guy in the class asked John directly last week and was told we wouldn't be done in time for a particular dance weekend coming up at the end of July. When I ask John directly, he just says we'll be done when we get through it: he's not keen on hard deadlines for a class like this.

No matter the end date, our Mondays will be booked for the foreseeable future.

We seem to be working our way through the ugly & awkward portions of the C2 list these days. Most calls are danceable with practice, although (IMHO) there are a handful which one can only hope to move successfully in a variable number of beats with some thought and a lot of prayer. I still hate "grand chain eight." I'm not fond of "chain the square" although I think I can achieve a degree of détente if necessary. New to my list of most-hated calls is last night's gem: "stack the line."

Someone please tell me there's something salvageable in some variation of this call. At the moment, it seems like the ugly kid added to the group to make everyone else look beautiful by comparison.

Despite the occasional ugly duckling, I'm still enjoying the class and the mental stretch which accompanies it. I should be trying my hand at composing C2 sequences to become more comfortable with the class and investigate what other evil creative things we can do with it.

The wrapping up of the recent DC Diamond Circulate convention continues.

Anyone lose a Kodak EasyShare C530 digital camera or a Lexor 256 MB flash memory stick? Let me know.

More financial details under the cut... )

There are miscellaneous other charges, including photocopying services, parking charges and such. It all adds up. Hopefully, we'll be able to produce a 99% complete detailed profit/loss statement and balance sheet in a month or so.
