[livejournal.com profile] kent4str and [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr are off to the 50th annual square dance festival hosted by the Washington Area Square Dance Cooperative Association. Alas, I have to work tonight so I don't get to go.

March is question month. Got a question for me? Leave it here (screened).

I'm back in the data center for another night shift. It was supposed to be three tasks:
1. continued maintenance on a Sun x4600 from last night;
2. memory upgrade to an IBM x3850;
3. recable the firewalls.

(1) has been postponed: Sun Microsystems isn't finished with their analysis yet.
(2) was also postponed. Again. And once again, I learned about the rescheduling from my director indirectly rather than from my boss who should have informed me promptly. What's with these people?
(3) is ready to go... I just need the word from the network operations folks to proceed. That word may come any time in the next few minutes or several hours. I'll bet it's later than sooner and may yet be rescheduled too.

If anything gets punted to tomorrow night, I will ignore it: I'm not missing the finale of Battlestar Galactica. So there.

Addendum: OMG! I found a chair! A real, honest-to-god chair! With a back rest, seat and everything! I'll have to return it when my shift is done but I'm infinitely more comfortable waiting for the project plan to unfold than I was a few minutes ago.

Sad how finding a chair is the most exciting part of my evening, huh?
