bjarvis: (sleeping)
I arrived home just before 1 AM last night after spending all day at the office. As tired as I was though, I didn't fall asleep immediately.

My pager started screaming again at 8 AM, mostly people wanting a new update on the server I was working on last night. After checking the machine once more and letting the users at it for applications testing, I tried to carry on a conversation with the hubbies but found that I needed a nap. At just before 10 AM.

I woke up some time around 1:30 PM, a little more rested but still feeling like I could use another year or two of sleep.

There's still some minor work left to do on the Server From Hell, but it will all be done soon. And then I get to do it all over again at the office tomorrow. *sigh*

On the good side though, it's kinda nice to be a geek again: I've been doing a tonne o' geeky hardware and operating system stuff I'd never be allowed to do during a day shift. The change is welcome.

There's something not right about broccoli on a pizza.

I just received the following e-mail from an address I don't recognize: Hello loony fat ugly stink pig

OK, it's spam and almost certainly forged. I just don't get what anyone might hope to accomplish with a message like this. There's no enticement to visit some illicit site, sell me something, draw me into any sort of conversation or such. It's just... nothing.

How do people have so much spare time on their hands to do stuff like this, and how can I get in on that particular degree of leisure?
