Monday Evening
Apr. 22nd, 2008 08:47 amArriving home yesterday afternoon wasn't quite the joy it usually is: the electricity was out. So much for my extensive, computer-based plans for the evening.
On the good side, the UPS lasted much longer than I anticipated. It had been supporting my Linux box, its LCD monitor, the DSL modem and the wireless router for a half-hour before I arrived. Once I shut down the Linux box and its monitor, the DSL modem & router lasted another three hours.
Feeling a little lazy and somewhat indulgent since we were dining sans![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
kent4str, we ordered pizza from Armand's instead of cooking. I felt a little guilty about spending the money but it was a nice treat.
We still didn't have electricity by 7 PM socuyahogarvr and I headed up the street to Casa Burlison for our C1 review session.
Happy,cuyahogarvr and Mein still learn about 25 calls & concepts on the C1 list but this session was dedicated to reviewing the calls & concepts they'd been taught this past weekend. As expected, I was learning just as much as the newbies by diving into the formal definitions more thoroughly and having to research questions about valid positions, subtle details of the descriptions and such.
Around 8:30 PM,kent4str txted us that power was back on at home. Yay! Still, cuyahogarvr and I weren't home until 10:30 PM so there was little time to catch up on my original to-do list. There's always tomorrow...
