My half-hour of Mainstream calling last night went fairly well. At 7 PM on the opening night, there are very few dancers available: many are arriving after work and those that are in the area are usually out at dinner. Thus, I was pleasantly surprised to get a full square only a few minutes after 7 PM and be able to reassemble a square again for the second tip. Yay!

Immediately following my MAinstream set (and [livejournal.com profile] kent4str's simultaneous Plus set), we went to dinner at Long John Silver's/A&W down the road. I actually sneaked next door for a sandwich from Arby's but returned for an A&W milkshake. Mmm...

There were only two other sessions of dancing Fright night when we returned. I was still to recover from the week's exhaustion so I didn't dance a step. Well, nearly didn't. [livejournal.com profile] ewe_bull_akr's C1 session ran past the 10:30 PM closing time --the floor was pretty hot and we just didn't notice the time. As Dayle and [livejournal.com profile] otterpop58 wandered by to see what was going on, they joined into the single C1 square to dance as couples with the dancers. The rest of us bystanders got into the action, making a single square of 16 dancers, all dancing as couples. It was a short tip, made even more insane by [livejournal.com profile] ewe_bull_akr intentionally calling 'relay the deucey.'

After dancing, we said our good nights at the lounge, then headed for our room. Alas, I didn't sleep for more than 2 hours the entire night, for all the wrong reasons. As I get older, I see I'm more affected by sugar consumed in the early evening and I suspect the milkshake simply had me buzzed sufficiently all night that sleep was impossible. *sigh*
