bjarvis: (urbana)
This morning, I dropped off [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr and [livejournal.com profile] otterpop58 at BWI airport to send them back to their respective cities of residence. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] otterpop58's flexible flight scheduling, their flights were departing only 5 minutes apart, allow only a single trip to the airport.

Alas, I'm back at the office, working on putting the test lab back together after its move from our DC location last Friday, and working on cutting over applications from Sun Microsystem E420R servers to V480 servers.

With luck, the rest of the day will be somewhat routine.

bjarvis: (DC Lambda Squares)
This was the second class of our new Mainstream series. Alas, there were a number of folks with schedule conflicts or the like... we had only one of the new dancers attending and not enough angels even for a second squares! Was it something I said?

The new dancer, also named Brian, had prior dance experience with two-stepping and line dancing so he's absorbing everything fairly quickly. The review of last week's show took only 10 minutes. This week, we went through (in no particular order) square thru, bend the line, lead right/left, veer left/right, ladies chain and backtrack. There was still plenty of time to do fun variations along with considerable drilling. Ultimately, we closed with a singing call to make [livejournal.com profile] billeyler happy and called it a night 15 minutes early.

We'll have to redo nearly everything next week when the other newbies are back but hopefully they'll have done their homework first.
