Good News Times Two!
Jun. 9th, 2007 11:22 amLast February, the IRS gave DC Diamond Circulate it's 501(c)(3) tax exemption status.
Today, we received our sales tax exemption certificate from the DC municipal gov't. This will save us thousands on purchases & expenses over the next couple of years, so long as we shop within the DC boundaries. (Alas, the state sales tax exemptions for Virginia and Maryland have very onerous administrative burdens so we're not going down that particular path.)
In other good news, I bought a used Dell Latitude D600 laptop today which I'm going to donate to DCDC for the use of our treasurer. I'll see about getting another 1-2 laptops before our convention in 2009 so we have lots of machines available for on-site registration, record keeping, printing, etc..
