I'm sitting at work --not my favourite place to be-- but at least it's air conditioned, whereas it's 90+ degrees F outside and so humid it's like walking through water.

Rather than head into downtown DC last night for square dancing, I holed up in the basement computer room with a bottle of Coke Classic, a bag of M&Ms and my laptop to write more C1 choreo for Monday's dance. Despite the injection of sugar and caffeine, my creativity wasn't exactly flowing as required but I went looking through my transcripts of other callers, envisioning the flow of the square as I read through the calls.

Did it help? I'm not sure... while I did write more material before calling it a night, I've yet to review it to see if it's (a) pure genius, (b) salvageable, or (c) absolute dreck. Check back with me later.

This afternoon, [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr flies into town. Yay! Nothing else is scheduled for tonight.

Saturday, I'm going to get my hair cut in Kensington, then we're heading to Gaithersburg in the early afternoon for a computer flea market. I want to shop for hardware, [livejournal.com profile] kent4str is looking for software and [livejournal.com profile] cuyahogarvr doesn't care where we take him as long as he starts his day with coffee.

In the evening, we're heading into downtown DC for the gay pride parade. We couldn't get enough bodies together for a square in the parade so we're off the hook for bringing the sound equipment and calling but we'll still march to distribute flyers and cards.

Sunday is entirely booked for the gay pride festival in downtown DC. I doubt we'll stay longer than the DC Lambda Squares' performance on the arts stage in the early afternoon but we'll see. Look for us at the DCLS booth!

Edit: It was just announced that DCLS does have enough dancers --barely-- for a square in the parade so we're calling Saturday evening after all!
