[livejournal.com profile] kent4str has been looking to acquire a new toy, and last night he bought it: a new MacBook.

Yes, he's converted to the Apple side of life and is now the proud owner of a 2 GHz (Intel Dual Core) MacBook (white shell, $150 cheaper than the black shell), 1 GB of RAM, 80 GB hard drive, SuperDrive with Bluetooth and wireless networking. He spent a little extra for a wireless super mouse, MS Office and Parallels to run Windows apps when needed.

If they offered discounts for purchasing more than one at a time, I would have bought one for myself but my need for a new laptop hasn't yet overcome my resistance to such a large layout of cash (about $2200). Perhaps for my birthday next January. :-)

The Chesapeake Squares of Baltimore, MD, has published the schedule for their latest Mainstream dance series.

It's an interesting hybrid of scheduling this fall:

  • seven Saturday afternoons, 1-4 PM at Zion Church near City Hall (Sept. 9, 16, 23, Oct. 7, 21, 28 & Nov 4). These sessions will introduce new calls and sequences.
  • four Tuesday evening sessions, 8-10 PM at the Waxter Center (Sept. 26, Oct. 3, 10 & 17). These sessions will review the Saturday material and provide class-level floor time: no new material.

The tuition fee is $70, which includes club membership to the end of 2006. Click on Chesapeake Squares for more info!
