Schedule Slippage
Aug. 9th, 2006 11:04 amI had a number of tasks I planned to have completed today but yesterday's joy of wrestling my Linux box to the ground nixed my original deadlines.
The additional Bluetooth adapter I bought from eBay is now on my iMac and working well. Alas, I didn't have time to test the debugging suggestions made by the makers of Missing Sync to see if I can get my Palm to behave itself with the iMac. I haven't tried syncing via Bluetooth yet.
The new photo albums arrived yesterday afternoon, along with a huge pile of insert sheets. I have yet to stuff my remaining labelled photos into these, or transfer the excess from the 2006A album to the newly acquired 2006B album. Perhaps tonight.
The 300+ photo prints of the Anaheim IAGSDC convention in early July have arrived. I'm disappointed in the results though... while the photos look good, the promised printing on the back leaves much to be desired. Yes, they printed the file name, caption and date on the back but all on one line without word wrap! On almost all of them, the date has spilled off the edge of the print so I'll have to go back & redate each of these manually. They arrived in alphabetical order by file name rather than in chronological order so I'll have to resort these too.
I should have known this was too good to be true. Shutterfly promises a similar printing ability but for $0.19 per print. I may send them a couple of images to test their results.
While I did have some hours over the past couple of days to read through CALLERLAB's official C1 definitions and order Vic & Debbie Ceder's C1/C2 definition book, I wasn't able to get to John Marshall's A2 session in Tysons Corners last night. Bummer. :-(
The pro bono lawyer we've been using for DC Diamond Circulate (the IAGSDC 2009 convention corporation) has responded to questions concerning our draft 501(c)(3) application for charitable organization status. His responses look pretty thorough but I haven't yet updated my originals to reflect his suggestions. Our next committee meeting is tomorrow night; I want to get this portion done so I can report it's ready for submission to the IRS.
And with
cuyahogarvr arriving at BWI tonight, I haven't yet had a chance to strip the beds and lay out fresh linens. At least the living room isn't quite the disaster it was a week ago and the kitchen is in good shape.
And I have only $5 in my wallet. I really need to get to an ATM.
Worst of all, the people around the office are actually expecting me to work today! The injustice of it all! :-^
