Recharging

I slept for a solid 12 hours last night. I'm still not feeling as totally rested as I'd like, but it's a good start. Another long sleep tonight will likely have me close to my usual energy level.

Despite sleeping in, we have made a start on the bathroom renovation. The contents have been cleared away and we're currently working on steaming off the existing wallpaper; we have wallpaper removal chemicals ready for the next pass on whatever is left.

We're going to join Jeff M. to see "X Men III" at Potomac Yards, 5:10 PM showing, then head out for dinner following (probably Indian). More news later.

The bathroom stuff is coming along nicely. The wallpaper is now completely removed from the walls. We used a removal chemical for the first layer but it didn't penetrate far, even with severely scoring the paper prior. Still, we were able to remove the first layer and simply use a squirt bottle of water and scrapers to take down the underlayer. [livejournal.com profile] kent4str has finished mopping it down with vinegar to remove dust & mold; tomorrow, I'll tape along the edges and we can put down a primer coat of paint. In the interim, we're using the basement shower & bath.

X-Men III review with spoilers behind the cut... )

One of the best parts about going to the movie was running into friends Kit & Stuart as we left (they were going in to see "The DaVinci Code"). Mmmm... what an incredibly hot, woofy pair. *drool*...

[livejournal.com profile] kent4str & Jeff are planning to see "Over the Hedge" at a matinee tomorrow... I'm still undecided about whether to go or just stay at home to enjoy having the house to myself for the afternoon. I'll probably cave in since we made good progress on the bathroom today.

Bedtime...
