More than half of my Unix team seems to be missing in action this morning. My manager is on paternity leave, two are in training, two called in sick, two seem to be coming in late although I'm optimistic they will arrive eventually, etc.. Despite the lack of hands, I'm actually rather bored at the moment: the only activity is centered around work orders that I submitted. Since our company rules don't allow employees to execute work orders composed by themselves, I'm bored while my few remaining non-breeding, fully trained, healthy, on-time colleagues are going insane with the workload I've created for them. Ah, well.
With a little luck, the afternoon will be light as well. We're calling in Baltimore tonight (class-level MS, MS, Plus and possibly A2 if there's enough demand); ideally, I'd like to get in a short nap after work so I'll be as mentally refreshed as possible. I didn't fall asleep until rather late last night thanks to at least a full hour of tossing & turning as I composed A2 choreo in my head. It was a useful mental exercise --I wish I could have put half of it on paper-- but I really did need to sleep. Kent is going to be in fine shape too since he didn't come to bed until well after I drifted off around 1 AM.
