While at the trailer, our friend Jeff M. wore little more than his kilt most of the weekend. After I mentioned comments from various other people suggesting I get one (and the discussion here on LJ), he recommended I try his on to see what I thought. Jeff is a couple of inches taller than me and is about 2" wider around the hips, but it fit rather well nonetheless.

Should I get one? Thoughts?

Its okay. *shrug*

You're cute and butch and have nice legs so of course you look fine in it. Do -you- like it?

I'm not the one to ask though really. The second something becomes a "must have" accessory, I'm not interested anymore. I would be very cranky in a cult.

Plus, I prefer what's underneath. It really seems a shame to ever cover it up at all.

Do I like it? A little, but I'm not sure if it's really the kilt I like or the novelty of the thing. In any case, I suspect I'm too cheap at this point to blow $185 for one, esp. since there are a stack of other more pressing items than my wardrobe which could use the cash.

Notice to all readers: I did NOT pay him to write that. Really, I didn't. I will, however, reward him appropriately at the first opportunity as I believe it's behaviour which should be encouraged. :-)

I'm not a big kilt fan, but I'm sure they are probably fun to wear while dancing. You look better than most in the pic. But, then again, you look better than most in whatever you're wearing.

Now rip that damn thing off and let us see your GOODIES!

Oh, oops, did I type that out loud? Sorry.

yeah, he looks way better without the kilt. Not that I'd know from personal experience, mind you...

This can be remedied. :-)

Uh, for all I know, my mother and grandmother are reading this. You and I will have to arrange a private showing. :-)

I think you look spiffy.

And the dancing factor has already been mentioned, but I will add: they're cooler to dance in than jeans. Think updraft :)

I see posts like this and think "oh good, a chance to flirt with Brian!" and then discover that I'm, oh, sixth in line or something.

So I'll just add my suggestion that you twirl a bit and show more of the, um, package.

Get a kilt. It won't kill you and if you like it, you've got a cool garment. If you don't like it, then you're not out too much money.

Unless you get a real Scottish kilt. And those are about 1000 times sexier than utilikilts. At least in my humble opinion.

There's a 'total look' concept here that I think is missing. Love you to pieces, but it looks like some pics-with-skirt my mother showed me of her in the 1940s when she lived in DC, but she didn't have the sneakers to set it off in such high fashion. (evil, evil grin)

Well, if I had known I'd be trying on a kilt, I'd have updated the rest of the ensemble as appropriate.

Bitch. :-)
